Configuring your iPhone device for Intune
*Note: Before setting up Comp Portal it is recommended to connect to BYOD Wi-fi*
Follow these steps: iPhone and iPad BYOD Wi-fi Instructions
Welcome to Intune. This tool allows you to access your Maddocks emails, calendar, and contacts. Intune allows you to connect to Maddocks seamlessly
via all the native applications on your iPhone.
If you choose, Intune also gives you the choice to download additional applications like Outlook, Word,
Excel and PowerPoint. Additionally, Intune provides an increased level of security and in the event
that your phone is lost we can remotely remove data from the device to protect you and the Firm.
It is important you understand that as part of the Terms and Conditions of Intune, if your employment
at Maddocks ceases, the Firm has access and authority to wipe all business content from your phone.
This will be a standard process as part of the off boarding procedures at Maddocks.
Security on your device
Before you enrol your phone using Intune you will need to meet the Firms’ security requirement for
unlocking your device. You must select either a 6-digit Passcode, Face Recognition, Fingerprint or Pin in order to be compliant
with the security policy. Options may vary depending which model iPhone you have. If you currently have no security
set to unlock your phone, you will need to change it now. Additionally, please ensure HYPR and Authenticator apps are set up on the phone on which you want to install Company Portal.
Once you have the required security set on your device you are ready to install Intune on
your phone:
- Download Microsoft Intune Company Portal from AppStore
2. Click Open
3. Enter your Maddocks email address then press Next.
4. Click 'HYPR Authentication'
5. Click on the phone icon.
6. Click 'Open HYPR'
7. Scan face or type PIN, and then it should take you to the authenticator app (if it stays in the HYPR app, swipe up and manually go back into the Company Portal app, which should prompt the pop up in the screenshot in the next step).
8. You should get taken to this screen. First you'll see a 2-digit code, then a pop-up will appear where you can enter this code (if an error pops up, press retry, choose your Maddocks account and it should eventually get to the correct screen with a 2 digit authorisation code):
9. Press Begin.
10. Press Continue.
11. Press Continue.
12. Press HYPR Authentication (same as above), then press the phone icon and lastly press Open HYPR.
13. If it stays in HYPR, manually go back to the Company Portal app (swipe up).
Please note, that if the phone is on iOS 17.4 or higher, you will need to turn off "Stolen Device Protection" via Settings > Face ID & Passcodes on the device, else this process will stall for 60 minutes due to a security timer.
14. Press Allow to download the configuration profile, then press continue until you get to the instructions below (Step 15).
15. Minimize (don't close) your Company Portal app, then go to: Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
16. Click on the Management Profile.
17. Press Install - top right hand corner.
18. Press Install - pop up.
19. Press Install - top right hand corner again.
20. Press Trust when the pop-up appears.
21. Go back to the Company Portal app and press Continue - you may have to press it twice (bottom of the screen).
22. The next screen will say Checking Device Settings - let this run (it may take a minute or two).
23. Once the check has finished and you can see 'Done' at the bottom, the set up has finished.
24. Now, you can go to the 'Apps' section (bottom left hand side), search for Outlook and/or Teams and download the apps through Company Portal.
IMPORTANT - If you launch an app and get a 53003 error, please go to the 'Notifications' section of the app, click the notification and follow the prompts.
IMPORTANT #2 -- Teams, Outlook and any other 'Maddocks' apps should be downloaded from Company Portal. If you have already downloaded something (such as Teams) from the Apple Appstore, delete it and download it from the Company Portal app to ensure no unforeseen errors occur.
